Adults learn in different ways; some people prefer to receive information in visual form, others auditory and some need to try it out themselves and really ‘feel’ it. Then there are people’s left or right brain dominance which impacts their preference for receiving data in an analytical way or a creative way. So what multi-channel learning interventions do is to offer students options for how to receive the information and key messages to increase the likelihood that everyone’s preferred channels will be satisfied thus learning will be more likely. An example of this would be presenting printed material for students to read, supplemented by interactive role-plays and a video.

2. Digital technology empowers both employees and employer

Digital technology is offering us many options for making learning mobile and empowering the student with the capability to choose the time and place for the learning as well as to focus on areas that are most relevant to themselves. Technology, used correctly, also empowers organizations with the capacity to broadcast messages and training in a consistent manner across large groups of employees and to tailor the messages to groups as required.

3. Social makes learning more organic

Social technology is enabling peer-to-peer learning as it allows individuals to share their best practices and success stories and learn from each other in a more organic way.
