1. Tell us about your experience in the Middle East

If you come from demographically homogenous country, UAE, in the first instance represents a melting pot of myriad cultures, which is a challenging set-up for a person like me who has been at the forefront of building and engaging strategies for innovation and people development. In time you do realize that there is a different drive which motivates people here.  They came here with a dream for success and good living, in return they got much more than that-bigger opportunities, security and hope of greater success.

This success story is made possible by the far-sight and futuristic vision of the country’s leaders, I can fully appreciate this because part of my skills was to train and develop skills of people to upgrade to newer technology to ensure innovation is properly adapted. The leaders of UAE brought in innovation not on flights of fancy but from meticulous study and strategy, a vision which is shared by both the leaders and the people. The Vision of the leaders has transpired to the very last person in this ecosystem and as a result we witness Vision Transform to Reality, everywhere, all the time.

I find great satisfaction in the working for 6Seconds, A global NGO with its sole focus on promoting EQ with a global vision of having 1Billion people practice EQ by 2039

  1. How would you describe the culture of your business?

The culture of our business is – We pay attention to people and their emotions. This is because we believe that “Emotions drive people and people drive performance”

  1. What are the biggest challenges in the next 5 years

The biggest challenge is that of Trust and Security globally. We see TRUST taking a hit everywhere and the result is we feel less secure. We are paying lesser attention to create meaningful association and relations. The world is more chaotic than ever due to our un-empathetic actions and decisions and we see stress rising almost logarithmically.

  1. What are the skills and competencies that you would need to train in order to meet the region’s talent requirements

Its high time that we introduce the skills of Emotional Intelligence as a part of the early learning for children and for adults by educating them with the power of emotions. When people more aware and intentional about their choices and actions, it will help them with the skills of building sustainable and dependable relationships, being more effective & improve their quality of life and overall well-being.

  1. What is your Philosophy?

We all are unique and we have our own individual ways of doing things. Engage Empathy when you deal with others  and work toward building better relations with people – ‘People Matter’
